I’m an educator and researcher specializing in quantum information and computation.

I work for IBM Quantum as Technical Director for Education. I’m creating a series called Understanding Quantum Information and Computation, which includes videos and a digital textbook. You can find it on IBM Quantum Learning.

Before joining IBM Quantum, I was a professor for over 20 years, most recently at the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo.

I grew up in Rotterdam, New York and was a student at Stony Brook University and the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
